My story…
Tawny has been making letters dance since 2014.
Born and raised in the beautiful country of the Philippines, with all the energy and passion for life and all things creative, I’m proud to have built the business of my dreams where I am able to serve and be a part of many lives.
I have always been passionate about all things artistic growing up. I’ve experimented on various forms of art, but it wasn't until 2014 when I learned and fell in love with calligraphy. I started practicing and posting my works on Instagram, and not long after, some known brands like The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf had noticed my works which of course boosted my confidence in the field.
I then ventured into teaching calligraphy workshops on the side and offer calligraphy services for weddings in the Philippines. Services ranged from wedding invitation suites, envelope addressing and signages. I moved to the US in 2017 to pursue my American dream.
I am so grateful for my profession in the medical field as a clinical laboratory scientist and the opportunities that the United States has opened for me because it enabled me to pursue this business and all my other endeavors.
Fast forward to 2022, happily married to my husband, Brent, and now a mama of our beautiful son, Elijah, I finally had the means and guts to pursue my life long dream of making this creative business “official”. I am now the proud owner of The Tawny Canvas. I hope and pray that this passion project of mine will blossom and be an inspiration to everyone who is doubting themselves in pursuing their dreams.
My ultimate goal is to serve you with excellence and use this creative gift that God has blessed me with, giving back all the glory to Him. I am committed to elevate your experiences, incorporating my skills on calligraphy, watercolor and engraving.
Business aside, I’m a big lover of life’s most special moments and social connections. I thrive in good relationships. I enjoy taking care of my plants, cleaning and tidying our house, dreaming up our family’s next big adventure and just dwell in a never-ending process of learning and re-learning and having lots of fun.
